Day 4

GREAT MIGRATION IN NDUTU ( SOUTHERN SERENGETI )

Optional: Discover this vast wilderness with a hot-air balloon flight.

You drive through the Ndutu region, renowned as the birthplace of the great wildebeest and zebra migration. The vast grassy plains, fertilized by volcanic ash some 3 million years ago, are home to a short grass rich in the mineral salts needed by wildebeest and zebra to give birth. This is the only place in Tanzania's northern national parks where it is possible to go off-roading, thanks to the region's very short grass and excellent visibility.
Ndutu is home to a rich and varied fauna, with savannah landscapes dotted with acacia trees in the center, wooded hills to the north and forests in the western corridor.

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater

You continue your safari towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This jewel of Tanzania is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Ngorongoro Crater is nicknamed the Garden of Eden, as it is dotted with small lakes and swamps, where animals thrive and love to drink. It's the most large caldera inactive volcano, intact and unfilled of the world with a background massif of around 260 km2 and a depths of over 600 metres. The safari from 6 hours to the bottom of the crater will allow you to see a fauna worthy of Noah's Ark. Elephants, buffalo, black rhinoceros, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, lions and pink flamingos live together in this caldera. Enjoy a picnic lunch by a lake where hippos live, a real little sketch that livens up your lunch. After a steep ascent of the crater, you return to your accommodation.
